About us

Tamra Boltjes: Ninos del Sol President;

Tamra Boltjes moved to Sayulita in the year 2000 and owns and operates Sayulita Rentals, a local vacation rental business. She has worked with many groups in Sayulita assisting in making Sayulita a better place to live in regards to roads, recycling, garbage pick up, etc. After having a daughter she noticed the need for an alternative educational system in Sayuilta. She spent 2 years working on this project until Costa Verde opened its doors in 2009. Tamra continues to work with the school and she volunteers with the children and teachers as well as the contributing to the town of Sayulita and it's growing infrastructure. Tamra currently acts as the President of the Board of Directors for Ninos del Sol.


Anne Ackermann/Menke: Ninos del Sol Secretary;

Anne Ackermann is a German photographer (working under her maiden name, Menke) who has worked throughout Europe for well known companies such as Elle Magazine, Vogue Magazine, Cartier, Harrods, Neiman Marcus, Banana Republic and Ralph Lauren.  She has photographed several celebrities such as Jennifer Connelly, Rachel Weisz, Hillary Swank and Christina Applegate and has written a book entitled "Our New York" in conjunction with clothing designer Tommy Hilfiger with all sales donated directly to the Twin Tower Funds.  Anne currently acts as Board Secretary for Ninos del Sol.


Lina Weissman: Ninos del Sol Treasurer;

Lina Weissman, Ph.D is a licensed child psychologist who has participated in non-profit management for over 10 years.  Her interests lie in promoting evidence based practices, professional training and field research.  With a background in school psychology, Lina has spent most of her life supporting administrative and educational issues faced by teachers and students.


Jessi Hunt: Ninos del Sol Board Member;

Jessi Hunt is passionate about creativity and learning as a lifetime pursuit. She has a diverse background developing training and professional development in both the commercial aviation industry and high tech. After nearly a decade in the highly regulated world of technical training for pilots and flight attendants, Jessi decided to further her education and pursue a degree in Organizational Development at the University of San Francisco. She now spends her days working on creative projects to further the digital learning experience at Adobe in San Francisco. Jessi's passion for learning is fueled by her time spent dedicated to children and their access to quality education and resources. Her desire in life is to continue to shrink the distance of learning for every child around the world.
